Indian Railways passengers, need not worry about refunds and cancellation of waiting list ticket now. IRCTC waiting ticket cancellation is also not required, your ticket will be cancelled automatically by the Railways after the chart preparation. The refund amount will be credited to your respective mode of payment.
Charges which are not refundable:
1. Service Charge
2. Bank Charge
Cancellation Charges will be deducted before the ticket fare amount is refunded to your bank account. The criteria for deduction is as follows:
If you are in the waitlist: Rs. 60 will be deducted per passenger
Confirmed ticket: If a confirmed ticket is cancelled more than 24 hrs before the scheduled departure of the train, flat cancellation charges shall be deducted 50% percent (per passenger) for all classes.
Remaning amount will be refunded back to your bank account in 6-7 working days.
Note: If your waiting ticket exceed the number of special train waiting ticket limit, then your ticket will be auto-cancelled and deducted amount will be refunded back, without any charge to your bank account within 3-5 days.
Limit of the Waiting List ticket train as follows:
20 seats- for AC First Class/Executive Class
50 seats- for AC 2 Tier
100 seats for AC 3 Tier/AC Chair car
200 seats for Sleeper Class
NOTE: Railways have set a maximum limit for special train. If your ticket booking request is reached in the booking system once the maximum limit has reached, then your request will automatically be cancelled, and your amount will be refunded in your bank account in 3-5 working days.
